Domaine de Montille is not only one of Volnay's most historic estates, but it is also regarded as one of Burgundy's finest domaines. It was founded in 1730, and today it is run by siblings Etienne and Alix de Montille, the 9th generation of the family. They acquired Château de Puligny in 2012, significantly expanding their already impressive portfolio of premier cru and grand cru sites along the Côte d'Or. They hired American winemaker Brian Sieve as Chef de Cave and converted the estate to organic and biodynamic practises. Domaine de Montille is a Burgundy domaine at the cutting edge, with these three working in unison, as well as an enviable selection of vineyards and sensitive élévage in the winery.
