Natural orange wine, produced in Orange, New South Wales!
The wine is produced using carbonic maceration, where whole bunches of grapes are sealed in tanks beneath a blanket of carbon dioxide. Fermentation takes place within the grapes until eventually the process causes the grapes to split and release their juice. The skin contact during this process gives the wine its distinct orange tones.
From Sunday Winemakers is a project conceived by winemaker Sam Bowman and branding specialist Dave Kynaston who talked about wines that they would like to make - whilst drinking wine. Now they make those wines using sustainable techniques and "Weird blends, unusual varieties, unconventional winemaking techniques!"
