Produced with grapes sourced from 6 small vineyards in the Santa Rita Hills in Santa Barbara California.
Jeff Nelson and James Sparks, the owner and winemaker respectively at Liquid Farm, believe that this wine validates their opinion that the Santa Rita Hills are the best location on the planet for growing chardonnay grapes! The fruit is gently pressed and the juice fermented with natural yeasts. The wine is aged for 15 months in French oak barrels, 15% of which are new.
Liquid Farm source their grapes from family owned vineyards that have soils that have been carefully tended over the years and allow the fruit produced to express the character of the soil. Their objective is to produce wines in the European style: cool climate, lower alcohol, higher acidity, terroir driven, whilst supporting local viticulture and respecting the environment.
