Fresh and expressive. Aromas of citrus, peach and plums.
Grapes are grown on gravel soils in vineyards around the villages of La Seca, Serrrada, Pozaldez and Foncastín in Rueda, 170 kms north west of Madrid. 2019 was a very dry year, resulting in a significant reduction in grape yields, but the fruit that was produced was of very high quality, with intense flavours.
The wine was fermented and aged in stainless steel, resulting in a fresh, expressive wine.
Winemaker Telmo Rodríguez is a passionate advocate of traditional Spanish wines. Telmo believes that wines should reflect the character of the origins: the grape variety and location. The winery established by Telmo's family is in Remelluri in Rioja Alavesa. Whilst working there, Telmo began investigating, buying and restoring historical vineyards. Rather than producing blended bulk wine he produces a range of individual wines, including single vineyard.
