A delightful pale lime colour, with flavours of white peach, kiwi fruit and dessert apple, and a mineral freshness.
Grapes are harvested by hand, in the cool early morning, from low yielding old vines growing on south facing granite soil slopes. Upon arrival at the winery the bunches are immediately destemmed and the grapes chilled before pressing. Free run and press juice are cool fermented separately in small stainless steel tanks. The wines are matured on the lees before blending and bottling. The whole production process is managed to preserve the freshness and enhance the natural aromatic flavourings in the finished wine.
The Vondeling winery is located in the Voor-Paardeberg region in the Western Cape, 45 minutes drive from Cape Town. The vineyards are located on the south facing slopes of the Paardeberg mountains where the cooling afternoon winds moderate the temperature and enhance the freshness and acidity of the grapes.
