Bright and delicate aromas of lemon, white flowers and honey. Good acidity to balance a residual sweetness.
Produced with grapes from Kesten and Osann vineyards. By Mosel standards these vineyards are gently inclined, with good orientation for the sun to ripen the grapes. Grapes are harvested relatively early to ensure the acid levels are high to balance the residual sweetness in the finished wine.
The Meierer winery is located at the foot of the Paulinsberg mountain, with the cellars driven into the side of the mountain. They own vineyards on the slopes of Paulinsberg and the smaller Paulinshofberg, which joins the larger and renowned Brauneberger Juffer.
Winemaker Matthias Meierer established his winery in 2006, but only worked in it part time, as he enhanced his experience by working with other renowned winemakers. In 2008 he won Young Winemaker of the Year, and since then has concentrated on his own business. His passion is riesling, and he works in every stage of the process, from vineyard to winery. He believes that only through this attention to detail can he produce wines that truly reflect the character of the grape and terroir that produced it.
